With a one dip base, you can make six different flavoring additions & please everyone!
DIP BASE:
Cream Cheese Dip Base
In a food processor or blender, mix 1 package 8oz/250 g cream cheese, softened, with 1/2 cup/125ml sour cream and 1/4 tsp each salt & pepper. Add flavorings of choice and pulse or blend on low until smooth.
6 different Flavoring options to your base:
Onion and Garlic
1 chopped onion and 3 whole garlic cloves lightly browned in 2 tbsp oil, and 1/4 cup chopped chives.
Curried Apple
1 peeled, cored and chopped apple, 2 tsp curry powder or paste, 1 tsp each liquid honey and lemon juice, and hot pepper sauce to taste.
Smoked Fish
6 oz/175g skinless & boneless smoked salmon, 4 chopped red radishes, 2 tbsp chopped red onion and 2 tsp lemon juice, or more to taste.
Blue Cheese
1/2 cup/125 ml crumbled blue cheese, 2 tbsp sour cream and 1 chopped green onion
Caper and Anchovy
2 tablsp capers and 1 can (1-3/4 oz/50g) anchovies, each drained & rinsed, 1/4 cup chopped parsley, and additional black pepper to taste.
Fruit and Nut
1/3 cup/75ml each chopped apple, walnuts OR pecans, chopped celery, golden raisins, and 1 tsp lemon juice.
